Avilanian educators back Cuba’s exclusion from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism

In a morning special on Wednesday, Ciego de Avila’s educators supported the limited decision, but in the right direction, to remove Cuba from the US list of countries alleged to be sponsors of terrorism.

Bismark Salaber Varela, general director of Education in the municipality of Ciego de Avila, highlighted the countless actions of which the nation has been a victim of terrorism, rather than an agent of it.

In this sense, the pedagogue Gladys Ruiz Marrero, affirmed that this was an unjust designation that should never have been applied, because there are plenty of examples of the Caribbean island’s commitment to peace and solidarity among peoples.

María Antonia Medros Roi, in her speech, asserted that we will continue to demand the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade, which for more than 60 years has caused great harm to Cubans.

In the special morning session held this Wednesday, the Avilanian educators thanked for the expressions of support for Cuba in the face of the decision of the United States government to exclude the nation from the State Department’s list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
