With a special dedication to the National Hero José Martí, on the 173rd anniversary of his birth, the Municipal Theatre Festival La Edad de Oro was held in the Olga Alonso Hall of the Morón House of Culture, featuring a dozen presentations by student collectives.
From beginning to end, the event’s primary encouragement was the applause of the present audience as recognition of the interpretative quality and the substantial content of the works.
In turn, the Festival’s judging panel awarded First Place to the Duo Adagio, belonging to the Rayitos de Sol Children’s Circus, while Second Place was granted to the group Juglarito de Ensueño for their interpretation of a work entitled La Edad de Oro.
Third Place was deserved by the reciter Liz Macía, from the local Haydé Santamaría House of Culture.
Standing out, with the recognition for Best Male Performance, was the five-year-old child Yojary Estrada Mora, who brilliantly recited the poetry Mi Bandera.
The Festival featured all theatrical forms, such as oral storytelling, circus variety acts, recitations and theatrical plays, among others.
