The application of science and technology, aimed at increasing productions, constitutes one of the prioritised spheres within the cooperative and peasant movement of the Avilanian municipality of Morón.
Through an adequate work system, agroecology is now being promoted with a view to guaranteeing sustainable development in agriculture, as a viable alternative in the face of the deficit of essential inputs.
Special motivation is given to the development of vermiculture and compost production, as well as carrying out soil improvements using appropriate techniques and through crop rotation.
Both the biological control of pests and diseases, and soil fertilisation, have a strong ally in science, which decisively contributes to superior results in the production of certain foods, mainly vegetables and greens.
