An additional effort is being made by various actors in Morón aimed at achieving improvements in communal hygiene despite the lack of resources, especially of equipment for the daily collection of solid waste that is dumped in the urban environment.
With the availability of only one collector vehicle in perfect condition and specialised for those tasks, and the support at weekends from equipment from other organisations, a good part of the solid waste is managed to be collected, although it is not sufficient, allege local authorities.
Parallel to this, on Fridays with the action called Change of Work, workers from centres and entities located in the urban perimeter develop morning sessions aimed at the cleaning of areas, principally of streets and pavements.
Yet social indisciplines remain a negative phenomenon that works against communal hygiene, mainly due to the deposit of waste in inadequate places, which encourages mosquito breeding grounds and deterioration of the environmental aesthetics. (Author: Carlos G. González Ruiz)
