Less than a month before the celebration of May Day, various labour collectives in the Avileño municipality of Morón are analysing the call of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba to participate in the parade.

At the meetings, the CTC’s Call to its affiliates to be present at the World Proletariat’s celebration was read out, as well as referring to the challenges in the economic and productive spheres, in the midst of a tense situation.

During these activities, the initiatives of each collective for May Day are also debated, and they constitute propitious spaces to condemn the Commercial and Financial Blockade of the United States against the Island for more than 6 decades.

In Cuba, the date was celebrated for the first time in 1890, following the agreements of the Congress of the Second International, held in Paris, which established this day as International Workers’ Day.
