On the occasion of the 99th birthday of the Historic Leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro, an emotional cultural activity took place in front of the Haydée Santamaría House of Culture in the Avilanian city of Morón, featuring performances by local artists and applause from the attendance.

It began with the reading of the poem Y sigues tu largo viaje, followed by the inauguration of an exhibition entitled Fidel en el corazón, featuring some twenty drawings created by children, adolescents and young people, inspired by the figure of the invincible Commander-in-Chief.

This 13 August in the Avilanian municipality of Morón, multiple activities will unfold, both in workplaces and cultural institutions, neighbourhoods and communities, in the spirit of homage to the Commander-in-Chief.

From this date onwards, in the territory – as throughout the country – and until December 2026, diverse proposals will be carried out to pay tribute to the leader of the Revolution on the centenary of his birth. (Author: Leonel Iparraguirre G/Redacción Informativa)
