An extensive program of cultural, historical and recognition activities began to be developed in the municipality of Morón in Ciego de Ávila, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the emergence of the Jardines del Rey tourist destination.

Iyolexis Correa Lorenzo, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in Ciego de Ávila, specified that 30 years ago, with the presence of the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, the first hotel facility in Cayo Coco was inaugurated, the starting point of a broad construction program for tourism development.

Thirty years after that historic moment, the Jardines del Rey destination has nearly 24,000 rooms in a hotel chain with prospects for continued growth.

On the occasion of the date, historical values of tourism development in this province are rescued, through testimonials from those men and women who founded this sector in the territory, in addition to other initiatives.
