The smiles of satisfaction on the faces of Caridad and Marifelix, among other neighbors in the area, are a clear demonstration of the gratitude for the effort made by the workers of the Aqueduct and Sewerage System of the municipality of Majagua, in the community of Campo Hatuey.
Although the place has been boosted for several months by the installation of solar panels in the two existing pumping stations, the residents at the end of 4th Street had been lacking the vital liquid for 14 years, which led to an investment of some 185,000 pesos.
According to Yusimí Galindo Fernández, director of the entity, 350 meters of pipes of different sizes were installed to extend the transportation of water from the main water supply of the main town, together with the existing pumping station in Alturas de Campo Hatuey, which is powered by a solar panel, for the benefit of about 40 families.
Despite these efforts of the members of the maintenance brigade of the center, Galindo Fernandez argues that it is necessary to continue with the use of the pipes in some parts of the community, due to the effects of the drought, to which he added that if the rains behave according to the forecasts, the old desire of the neighbors of the place will soon be materialized.
So far this year, this same work team from the southwest of Avila has carried out similar actions aimed at re-establishing the entry of the vital liquid affected for years in building 1 of the locality of Guayacanes and the facilities of the Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology, located on La Manchuria road.
