The 23rd edition of the Piña Colada Festival, scheduled for 2 to 5 April, will have a programme in keeping with the country’s current conditions and will, as always, be a musical tribute marking the anniversaries of the founding of the José Martí Pioneer Organisation and the Young Communist League.

The event maintains its slogan: culture, tradition and modernity, which will be reflected in the planned activities taking place in the cities of Ciego de Ávila and Morón, where concerts of fusion, alternative and contemporary music will be held.

Performances will take place at the headquarters of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac), the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), the Artex Courtyard, the Indercito Plaza, the Principal Theatre, all in the provincial capital, and the Reguero Theatre in the municipality of Morón.

To date, participation has been confirmed by Buena Fe, Toques del Río and the Failde Orchestra. In addition, figures from local talent under the Avilanian Latir Cultural Crusade will perform at workplaces, schools, neighbourhoods and communities.

The main cultural event in central Cuba, created and led by Avilanian Arnaldo Rodríguez, promotes Cuban music and preserves the nation’s sound heritage, with the support of institutions from the sector in Ciego de Ávila and national entities.
