The Cuban Baseball and Softball Federation (FCBS) announced two withdrawals from the roster of pitchers announced for the VI World Classic and advanced that they are studying possible substitutes.

According to the note sent to the sports desk of the Cuban News Agency, the organisers notified that the island’s selection will not be able to count on Daviel Hurtado due to injury, while Naykel Cruz was denied insurance.

The FCBS thanked both athletes for their willingness to play with the Cuba team in the main tournament of baseball selections.

The text also advances that, given the situation that has arisen, potential substitutes are being evaluated.

Part of the island squad announced for the Classic is currently holding a friendly series with Nicaragua, which serves both teams as preparation for the great event.
