Sueño project in defence of visual arts in Ciego de Ávila

From the uniformity of colours, textures, forms and the creativity of the artists, the plastic arts workshop directed by the painter and portraitist Plinio Sánchez Rodríguez moves forward, located in the patio of the Provincial Council of Plastic Arts in Ciego de Ávila.

Created since 2002 the «Sueño» project fosters the interest of new generations in delving into the world of visual arts, from a different perspective and adding each day students who struggle to pursue their dreams among brushes, watercolours and temperas.

In this summer stage the participation and accompaniment of the family has been a determining role for the Sueño project, who trust in the professionalism of the specialists and the programme conceived to successfully conclude these drawing and artistic appreciation workshops.

The young people learn the different techniques of visual arts, modelling, charcoal, the use of primary colours and volume, tools that one as a professional provides them and they acquire skills, the result of which are the students who train in national schools of visual arts. I confirm the portraitist and painter Plinio Rolando Sánchez Rodríguez.

For his part Maisle Sánchez Clemente, specialist of the Provincial Council of Plastic Arts, said to Televisión Avileña «we try to make the students feel very liberated, that they find in our space an option for recreation, that is to say that they see culture as part of their life, this is nothing more than a range of interpretative possibilities and they can be not only artists, but also spectators where we also insert the Martían and humanist perspective.

The wisdom of Plinio and the eloquence of Maisle seeks in each disciple, moments full of colours through their interpretative capacity brought to the card, as a result of their academic training from generation to generations.

With more than 20 years since its founding the Sueño project has been an indelible part of the training of students, who currently study at the National School of Art and others are already professionals, thanks to the endeavour and commitment of artisans in Avilanian land.
