Students from Ciego de Ávila honoured with the Scientific Merit Award

Three Avilanian students — Kevin Marcos Delgado Álvarez, Ana María Morejón Sotolongo, and Marla Guevara Toledo — are among 24 exceptional university students from Ciego de Ávila honoured with the Scientific Merit Award for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Raidy Teidy Rojas Ángel Bello, Vice-Rector for Teaching at the Máximo Gómez Báez University in the province, recognised the talent, dedication, and commitment of the awardees. The university looks forward to training them further as masters and doctors in various fields of knowledge.

Rojas Ángel Bello noted that such achievements were once an impossible goal, making the pride felt by professors, faculty boards, and the institution’s leadership all the greater.

During their higher education, these distinguished young people left an indelible mark, and many have chosen to join the university’s professional team starting this September.

The students’ effort and dedication, combined with the support of professors and the work of the Vice-Rectorates for Teaching, Research, and Postgraduate Studies, made it possible for these 24 Avilanian university students to be awarded the Scientific Merit Award in 2024-2025
