The 10th edition of Concert Day closes today in the city of Ciego de
Avila after enlivening the cultural life of the territory since last 27th.
The program foreseen for today includes the presentation at the portal of the
José Inda Hernández Culture House (on Avila’s boulevard), the presentation of the bands of Majagua, Baraguá, Venezuela, Ciro Redondo and Ciego de Avila.
A pilgrimage, at 11:00 am, will be made to the home of the family of César Alberti, a musician from Ciego de Avila to whom the event is dedicated on the centenary of his birth. There, a plaque will be placed in remembrance of such a remarkable figure of the local culture.
A saxophone quintet will also perform there.
Intermezzo and the musicologist Roberto Bullón will speak about the relevance of
César Alberti and his vast work as a performer, teacher and conductor of orchestras of different formats.
Every year in Ciego de Avila the Concert Day is organized, which favors the encounter of
the best of local music with an audience that recognizes and appreciates the presentations of each group or soloist.
