It is often said: «He is a man for everything.» So why not also affirm: «She is a woman for every kind of task»? This is exactly how Misleidys Sánchez Yánes conducts herself, excelling not only in the workplace but in all areas, as a leading figure in the 26th of July activities in Ciego de Ávila, host of the national celebrations for the 72nd anniversary of the Moncada events.

The trade unionist says she has experienced some very emotional moments. “I felt incredibly happy the day my colleagues chose me as a direct delegate to the 22nd Congress of the Central Workers’ Union of Cuba. Perhaps it’s because they feel represented by me at all times, and I try to resolve their concerns with the support of our company’s management board, of which I am very proud.

“Why am I so satisfied? Because people are earning well, the average salary has risen to over 12,000 pesos, wages are paid on time and in full, no one has to queue at the bank to get paid because we make sure to bring the cash directly to the workplace, and, as an additional option, we have an extra cash service of 2,000 pesos per person. The canteen operates every day, and lunch never exceeds 18.00 pesos per diner…”

All these are the fruits of the dedication of this economic management specialist. She handles collections and payments, cash in hand and in the bank, among other matters that ensure the financial health of the Provincial Company for Support and Services to Education (Epase), which is aiming even higher: “To reach 100 million pesos in sales and exceed 4 million in profits in honour of the 26th,” she highlights.

She says she is even more enthusiastic for other reasons. “I have two beautiful families: one made up of my children, granddaughter, and other relatives; and our National Vanguard team, which many aspire to join because Epase enjoys prestige and popularity thanks to the quality of its work,” emphasises this woman for everything.
