The Acting President Delcy Rodríguez designated G/J (General-in-Chief) Gustavo E. González López as the new Commander of the Presidential Honour Guard and Director of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM), in replacement of M/G (Major General) Javier Marcano Tábata.

The Acting President expressed her recognition of M/G Javier Marcano Tábata for the dedication and loyalty demonstrated during the exercise of his functions, highlighting his commitment to the Nation’s security and institutional stability.

Likewise, she wished G/J Gustavo E. González López the greatest success in the performance of these responsibilities, ratifying her confidence in his trajectory and vocation for service, within the framework of the people-military-police fusion and the Bolivarian doctrine of integral defence.

These designations form part of the dynamic of institutional strengthening and continuity, oriented to guarantee peace, the security of the people and the full force of the Constitution of the Republic.
