The presentation of a recognition that became a farewell to her duties as deputy director of the Central-East Division of Ferrorriles de Cuba to Tania Estrella González Sosa, by Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Minister of Transport, began this Saturday the balance of the work carried out by this sector in Ciego de Avila during the year 2024.

At the meeting, the minister pointed out that the commission still remains in this province to carry out the high level transport audit exercise, which provides a detailed assessment of the particularities and difficulties in each municipality.

The assembly’s discussion focused on where the actions are directed and the implementation of the tasks aimed at solving the existing problems in the transport entities.

At the meeting, René Jesús González Molina, director of the Unión de Ferrocarriles de Cuba, presented the projections proposed for 2025 in the territory of Avila.

In this sense, the situation of the four paralysed routes was analysed, with emphasis on the Morón-Camagüey route and the revision of the investment budget of the Railway Terminal in the city of Morón.

In the presence of Bárbara Guerra Pérez, member of the Provincial Party Bureau; Andrés Pino Pérez, coordinator of government programmes and objectives, and Olga Gener Pérez, director of Transport in the territory, the basic business units Transmetro Morón and Transcontenedores, the Ciego de Ávila Truck Subsidiary Company and the Cargo Base were recognised.

The Jardines del Rey International Airport, the Taxis Cuba agency, the Road Education and Driving School, and Sitrans were also recognised for their results in 2024.

The Minister of Transport called for a greater efficiency and concretion of each of the tasks, imperative to achieve the recovery of the coefficient of technical availability and the improvement of the roads in the province.
