Inaugurated over two decades ago, Ciegoplast is recognised for its contribution to water access in vulnerable zones across all provinces, while facilitating the commissioning of major infrastructure projects.
With nearly 7,000,000 linear metres of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes across various diameters, Ciegoplast leads this conduit market and consolidates its position as Cuba’s foremost contributor to hydraulic works – a productive tribute from workers to their province hosting National Rebellion Day celebrations.
The enterprise has enabled critical projects including the Santiago de Cuba aqueduct, Havana’s Southern Basin system, the Mariel Special Development Zone, and numerous others.
Fish farming cages for intensive aquaculture and filtering nozzles for water treatment plants count among its alternative productions, establishing value chains with the Fishing Enterprise and Water Supply/Sewage Enterprise respectively.
«We manufacture over 2,000 types of fittings and accessories, providing more than 200 solutions for enterprise and service sector challenges,» stated Sergio Barrios García, the entity’s General Director.
Among the collective’s highest honours was receiving the Business Management Award from Cuba’s National Association of Economists and Accountants. This recognised its economic, productive and scientific impact, alongside fulfilling its social objectives in 2022 amid limitations imposed by the US government’s blockade.
