This is how the workers’ organisation in the central Cuban province of Ciego de Avila celebrated its 86th birthday on 28 January.

The Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC) in the province of Ciego de Avila, celebrated its 86th anniversary on 28 January in the areas of food production, one of the priority tasks in salute to the 22nd Workers’ Congress, a mobilisation held at the Empresa Agropecuaria La Cuba, in the municipality of Baraguá, in the province of Ciego de Avila.

Then she was happy because on her birthday she was flattered by the political and mass organisations, and she reciprocated with the Municipal Committee of the CTC of Baraguá and the Provincial Health Union, winners of the emulation for their integral management, in 2024.

The territories of Bolivia, Ciro Redondo and Ciego de Avila, and the Provincial Bureaus of the Construction, Culture, Food Industry and Fishing Unions were also honoured.

Other honorees were the collectives of the 13 March primary school, and the trade and bread chain units of the town of Pesquería, all from the Baragüense territory, all of which achieved the status of Centre 22 Congress.
The grassroots business units belonging to the emergency generator maintenance and construction companies for the electricity industry also received awards for their achievements in the recovery phase of the provinces affected by hurricanes Oscar and Rafael.

They also presented the National Vanguard flag to the representatives of the Agustín Balmaceda and Cabrera Basic Units of Cooperative Production.

Niurka Ferrer Castillo, secretary general of the CTC in Ciego de Avila, said: «We ratify that the workers’ centre and its unions in the province will always be faithful to the legacy of Lázaro Peña and the ideas of Fidel in representing and defending the interests of the workers, with the deep conviction that together we create for Cuba».
