The municipality of Morón hosted the Provincial Act for the Day of the Victory of Girón, First Great Defeat of Imperialism in Latin America, in Playa Félix in the north of the territory.

The meeting was attended by the highest authorities of the province and the municipality and was an opportunity to remember the glorious days of April 1961, when the Cuban people and their militiamen defeated the mercenary invaders.

The occasion was also propitious to recognise the municipality of Ciro Redondo with the Outstanding Condition and Morón and Primero de Enero as Achievers in the political movement Ciego in 26.

For this decision, the fulfilment of the indicators contained in six battles was taken into account. These indicators reflect key aspects for the country, such as the strengthening of the revolutionary ideology, for life, the economy, the feeding of the people, the energy recovery, and for the quality of services.

According to Julio Gómez Casanova, first secretary of the provincial committee of the party, these results are an evaluation of each organism and institution of the territory, and should be analysed at all levels, to seek solutions to the deficiencies that persist.

During the Provincial Act for the Victory Day of Playa Girón, a group of entities, among them the Provincial Radio Network, were also awarded with the conditions of Outstanding and Accomplished.

The radio broadcasters of Avila remain committed to continuing to deliver a quality product that meets the needs of their audience. At the moment, the main challenge is to bring the radio closer to the reality of the province and to make it more like closer to each Avilanian.

The next emulative cut will be announced on May 17th, when the main authorities of the territory, organisations and provincial entities, will climb the 28 de Enero peak, in the municipality of Florencia, to commemoratethe 64th anniversary of the signing of the Agrarian Reform Law, and the 130th anniversary of José Martí’s fall in combat.
