To the question of whether death for Morón and Ciego de Ávila is wanted, instead of citizen peace and tranquillity, the gathering responded with the proven pacifist and friendly vocation that distinguishes the best children of the nation.

Gómez Casanova emphasised that our main task in the current context is to preserve the unity so advocated by the historic leader of the Revolution. «The acts of vandalism in various institutions in Morón demonstrate the desperation of those who cannot bear to see a united people.»

He referred to the shortages and errors in internal processes, to what we do badly, to insist that the fundamental cause of the difficult situation the country is going through lies in the genocidal blockade with which they intend to suffocate the Revolution.

When recalling the violent events of last Friday, he made it clear that the police forces did not shoot any of the protesters, although several of them, like political and administrative officials, were stoned, and that the shots in the air finally achieved the deterrent purpose.

They tried to kill the revolutionaries with stones, they cornered them on a corner of the Party headquarters and still no one was shot, explained the leader. «In the world, what police force receives stones and, at the very least, does not respond with rubber bullets, with tear gas?»
