Martyrs of Barbados association expresses support for Cuba

The Barbados Martyrs Association, made up of Cubans living on the Caribbean island, raised its voice against the blockade imposed by the US government on the largest of the Antilles, said Yulenny Rivera Leliebre, president of the organisation.

In declarations to this radio station, the activist informed that they urged the Washington Administration to remove Cuba from the list of countries supposedly sponsoring terrorism, an arbitrary measure that violates the right to life, food, health and education.

«Despite the limitations, Cubans inside and outside the island maintain the unbreakable will to defend our principles and our sovereignty,» said Rivera Leliebre, who reiterated the unconditional support of this community to the people of the largest of the Antilles.

«We work with the aim of establishing communication with other associations of Cubans living in countries in the area and with the regional coordinator in Latin America in order to foster ties of solidarity and collaboration,» he added.
