Avilanian wrestler Kevin Alemán Gómez stepped onto the podium after securing the silver medal in the 74kg freestyle division at the U-20 Pan American Wrestling Championship held in Lima, Peru.

His achievement not only brings pride to El Salvador but also deeply moves his father and coach, Alexander Alemán Osuna—a prominent figure in wrestling with numerous career successes, who considers this feat among his most special.

Alemán Gómez dedicated his triumph to the Salvadoran Wrestling Federation, INDES El Salvador (National Sports Institute), and the El Salvador Olympic Committee, acknowledging their institutional support. He also credited teamwork, especially highlighting his colleague and friend Emr MonCan, and all fellow athletes, emphasising that this result stems from collective effort.

With this performance, the young wrestler solidifies Salvadoran wrestling’s continental growth and projects a promising future for the nation’s sport.
