The Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) clarified today that the Sunday, July 27 holiday will not be moved to Monday, July 28. In an official press release regarding labor treatment during these dates, the ministry explained that while Law 116 (the Labor Code) establishes July 26 as a national commemoration day, both July 25 and 27 are designated as holidays.
The ministry emphasized that the Labor Code only authorizes the transfer of Sunday rest days corresponding to national commemoration dates. Since July 27 is a regular holiday without specific legal provisions for transfer, it will not be moved to Monday.
Regarding salary treatment during these days, the MTSS stated that the provisions of Article 111 of the Labor Code will apply.
