Hunters and Tigers Split in National Baseball Series

The Ciego de Ávila Tigers and the Artemisa Hunters split honours today at the José Ramón Cepero in the continuation of the national Baseball Series.

In the first of a double-header the Avilanians came out on top (4-3).

Asniel Jiménez was key, connecting two base hits in three at-bats and driving in three of his team’s four runs.

The Tigers hit six base hits but played error-free defence.

Leonardo Reyes got the win, his first of the Championship, and Yanquiel Tamayo saved the second challenge in the series.

The Hunters levelled the duel by winning the second encounter (4-2) after the great work of Andy Luis Pérez who got the win, and the loss went to the man from Florencia, Erisdel Martinez.

Yansue More became the hero of the game by driving in all four of his team’s runs. The Tigers now stand at (8-11). Today these teams will play again from 2 in the afternoon.
