The park on 9th street, located in the head town of the Avilanian municipality of Primero de Enero, was the chosen setting for the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the creation of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in these grounds.
Presided over by Daimy Zamora Arteaga, first secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party in violeteño territory, the activity paid homage to Vilma Espín and the rest of the Cuban women who wrote pages of history in the struggle for Cuba’s independence.
Federation members, delegations and blocks outstanding in the organisation’s actions and organisms and entities that support the activities organised by the women were also recognised.
Amid poetry and songs, the work of women and their endeavour to perfect the work of the FMC and to instil in new generations love for this mass organisation were highlighted, with the example of those who, from a very young age, bring prestige to these ranks.
