Extraordinary Provincial Government Council Sessions in Ciego de Ávila

With the aim of evaluating and strengthening administrative and governmental management in the province, the Provincial Government Council is holding an extraordinary session today in Ciego de Ávila.

During the meeting, participants are assessing the progress of the Government Programme designed to correct distortions and improve institutional efficiency, as well as the objectives, targets, and indicators that guarantee the province’s economic and social development. The preparation of summer activities is also being reviewed, with an emphasis on providing healthy recreational options for Avilanian families

The Council holds particular significance as Ciego de Ávila is the national host for the 26th of July celebrations, the Day of National Rebellion. This occasion demands effective coordination among all institutions to ensure the success of commemorative activities

The session is presided over by Alfre Menéndez Pérez, Governor of Ciego de Ávila, and Julio Gómez Casanova, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, alongside Eduardo Martínez Díaz, Deputy Prime Minister, and Lilian González Rodríguez, Second Chief of the Office for Local Administration Affairs of the Council of Ministers.
