Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of the Republic, today held talks with General of the Army Nguyễn Tân Cương, Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, Permanent Member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the People’s Army, and Deputy Minister of National Defence, during the Asian military representative’s official visit to Cuba.

The distinguished visitor stated: «The Party and people of  Vietnam express gratitude and shall never forget the sincere assistance of the Cuban people during our resistance against the Americans. We will always remember your support, both historically and in the present.»

This meeting commemorates the 65th anniversary of Cuba-Vietnam diplomatic relations established on 2nd December 1960.
