Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and Minister of Foreign Affairs, today described as cynical the statements made by the US Secretary of State and the Argentine Foreign Minister about authoritarianism in other countries.
Through his official account on X, the West Indian Foreign Minister pointed out that these officials defend the interests of governments that violate their own constitutions and laws, while repressing their peoples when they demand dignity and humanism.
«It is cynical that Secretary of State #USA and Foreign Minister #Argentina speak of authoritarianism in other countries, while defending the interests of governments that violate their constitutions and laws and repress their people when they demand dignity and humanism».
The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, received on Tuesday in Washington the Foreign Minister of Argentina, Gerardo Werthein, with whom he spoke of «strengthening» cooperation between the two countries and «combating authoritarianism» in Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela.
However, both in the US and in the South American nation, recent protests have been unleashed against its authorities for the application of measures that constitute serious human rights violations.
