The care of more than 16,000 infants between the ages of 0-6 in Ciego de Ávila is among the achievements of the Educa a tu hijo programme, which on 16 January celebrates its 34th anniversary.
Idalmis Martínez Arcia, head of the Early Childhood department in the Avila territory, reported that they plan to celebrate the new anniversary of this non-institutional educational modality next Saturday at the José Inda Hernández culture house.
The programme consolidates intersectoral work strategies that allow to advance with firmer steps in the accompaniment to the family, in the integral development of each child from birth to six years of age.
In the province, this non-institutional educational modality extends its benefits to penitentiary centres, with the aim of guaranteeing that both men and women serving prison sentences can participate in their children’s education by sharing various activities with them.
The Educate Your Child Programme, created on 16 January 1992, is the materialisation of research that validates it as an indispensable process.
