Youry Santana González, prestigious sports commentator for Radio Suco in Ciego de Ávila, received the award in the Commentary category for his work «Llover sobre lo mojado» (Raining on the wet), during the XXXVI National Cuban Radio Festival, which concluded on 7 June in the province of Camagüey.

The above transcended during the awards gala held in the patrimonial Plaza del Carmen, in the capital of Agramontina, an evening attended by representatives of the Party, the Government, the Union of Journalists of Cuba and other institutions.

Santana González’s fruitful career is endorsed, among others, by his participation in national baseball series, in the Central American and Caribbean Games, in the Pan-American Games in Santiago de Chile and in the Olympic Games in Paris 2025.

At the closing ceremony, Yuzaima Cardona, director general of Radio Cubana, congratulated the winners and highlighted the quality of the National Festival held in the province of Camagüey, where she announced that next year the event will be held in the province of Sancti Spíritus.
