The decision to work and transform in order to maintain the vitality of the production destined for the consumption of the population, was the feeling of the participants in the provincial event for the Food Industry Workers’ Day, held in the municipality of Ciro Redondo in the municipality of Ciego de Avila.
Such purpose has as strength the consecration of the hosts who in 2024 applied extenders to the products in the face of the insufficient availability of raw materials, promoted the productive chains with other entities and the use of innovation, according to Odetty Pérez Galindo, director of the Unidad Empresarial de Base Alimentaria, in the territory where the homage activity took place.
The also deputy to the National Assembly of People’s Power stressed that the management of the collective made possible the fulfilment of sales plans, profits and other economic indicators, for whose results the leader received a certificate of recognition, presented by Anabel Ramirez Lopez, first secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party in Ciro Redondo.
The representatives of the Ciro Redondo and La Nueva bakeries also received moral encouragement for their efficient fulfilment of the tasks of trade union work.
The secretary general of the Provincial Bureau of the Union of Food and Fishing Industry Workers, Yunier Sarmiento Segura, stressed that the festival was an opportunity to ratify the productive commitments, in homage to the 86th anniversary of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba and the 172nd anniversary of the birth of José Martí.
He recalled that the Food Industry Workers’ Day has been celebrated every 25 January since the date was instituted in 1971, when the Commander-in-Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz, called for the strengthening of the trade union movement in this strategic sector for feeding the people.
