Owners of tricycles and cycle-taxis to which a motor, whether electric or combustion, has been fitted are coming to the procedures office of the Provincial Transport Directorate in response to the call from sector authorities and the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) to register their vehicles before 7 November, the deadline set by Resolution 47/2026 of the Ministry of Transport.

The regulation establishes the procedure for the homologation of vehicles assembled from parts and components that have not yet been legalised in previous processes. Its purpose is for these vehicles to be able to undergo the corresponding technical inspection and, if they meet the requirements, to complete their registration in the Vehicle Registry.

The process begins with registration on the digital platform enabled by MITRANS, where owners must provide their personal data and the information necessary to identify the vehicle, including its characteristics, the type of energy or fuel, and the engine and chassis data, where these exist.

Initial registration does not equate to definitive legalisation. After this stage comes the automotive technical inspection and evaluation by the Homologation Commission. Vehicles declared fit may continue the procedure to obtain the corresponding documentation and registration plate.

Interested parties can register at «censovap.transnet.cu« (https://censovap.transnet.cu). If they have difficulties completing the digital registration, they can go to the public service areas of the Provincial Transport Directorate, the corresponding municipal department or the Joven Club de Computación.

Given the approaching deadline, the authorities urge the owners covered by this call not to leave the procedure until the last minute and to comply with the established steps.
