Morón: The Pupil’s Tree Planting as a Rite of Passage to Secondary School

Sixth-grade students from Morón took part this Thursday in the traditional planting of the pupil’s tree, a rite that symbolises the end of primary education and the beginning of a new stage in their lives.

The activity took place in the courtyard of the Antonio Maceo primary school, where the graduates planted a specimen that will endure as a green mark and testimony of their time in the classroom.

The ceremony was part of the end-of-year celebrations, with the participation of students, teachers and families, who highlighted the value of this gesture that unites nature and education.

The planted tree will grow alongside the young people and remind them that, like it, they must extend their branches towards the future with resilience, while leaving in Morón a symbol of life and perseverance for the entire community.
