- The traditional parade of the working class began at 7:00 this morning, the first day of May, in the 10 municipalities of the Avilanian territory.
Workers, along with family members, peasants and residents of the 10 municipalities of the central Cuban province of Ciego de Ávila, began gathering from early today to take part in the traditional and grand parade marking 1 May, International Working Class Day.

In the Máximo Gómez Báez square in the Avilanian capital, after the members of the praesidium and the members of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, the first block of the 15 Trade Unions will see the men and women of the construction and hydraulic sectors march past. They contributed to their union achieving the best results among the trade union movement structures, notably the monetary contribution supporting defence tasks through the «My Contribution to the Homeland» movement and the declaration of five work collectives as National Vanguards for their efficient management during 2025.
Niurka Ferrer Castillo, general secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Cuban Workers’ Federation (CTC), who will deliver the central address of the commemoration, highlighted that in more than 30 communities and workplaces, revolutionary reaffirmation rallies were held for the «Signature for the Homeland» process and the workers’ organisation’s call: «The Homeland Defends Itself».
