Three innovators with relevant contributions to economic and social development in the central Cuban province of Ciego de Avila, received a replica of the card that accredited Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz as an innovator.
Leidy Rivero Saavedra, president of the organisation’s Provincial Bureau, read out the merits of the recipients for their contribution to the economy, research, teaching and defence of the country, and stressed that the award was part of the programme of activities of the 3rd Anir National Conference.
The first to receive the award was the Heroine of Labour of the Republic of Cuba, Verania Felicia Hernández Peláez, for achieving relevant awards with inventions that have contributed a total of 33 million pesos of economic effectiveness in favour of the management of the Soil Institute in the territory of Avila, outstanding results in the movement of creative women and several decorations, including the Seal of October 8 and the status of Guerrilla of Creativity.
Orlando Rivero Jiménez, who received multiple awards for contributing to the fulfilment of the sales plan, quality, the recovery of raw materials, the manufacture of spare parts and the reduction of imports at the Empresa de Cepillos y Artículos Plásticos (Cepil), the only one of its kind in the country, deserved recognition.
The third laureate was the engineer Antonio Eduardo Aguilera Franco, founder of Anir and 50th anniversary of the construction sector, who holds the Lázaro Peña Third Degree Order, the Jesús Menéndez, Hazaña Laboral and Armando Mestre Martínez medals, and the diploma of best territorial inspector in the country for matters related to the Law of Innovations and Rationalisations.
For the first time in Ciego de Avila, the replica of the associate innovator card that was given to the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, at the Pedro Kourí Institute of Tropical Medicine, on 26 July 1992, is awarded for the first time.
