Agro-ecological techniques gaining ground in Morón

The application of agro-ecological practices is gaining more and more ground in the municipality of Morón in Avileña, in the face of the scarcity of traditional inputs, which is manifested through their implementation in several production bases, including some peasant farms.

This includes the use of compost and earthworm humus, as well as bio-controllers produced in the territory’s Entomophagous and Entomopathogenic Centres.

Even the territory is in need of greater impetus in search of satisfactory results that guarantee the use of alternatives such as crop residues, live fences and the use of animal traction.

Agroecological practices are a priority for the peasantry and the entire agricultural system in Morón due to the scarcity of fertilisers and pesticides, together with the need to produce healthier and more environmentally friendly food.
