Renowned cultural venues in the city of Morón will be invaded by the VI Festival Jazz Centro Nelson Oney in memoriam, scheduled to take place on March 28th and 29th. Culture officials confirmed that the organisational details have been worked out to ensure that the event will be held with the required quality.

The event has been conceived in venues such as the Reguero Theatre, part of the Reverbero socio-cultural project, the Café Jardín Apolo of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac) in this municipality, as well as radio stations and other initiatives.

The Festival will open with a special performance by the jazz group La Familia at the Sala Reguero and a performance at the new project, Punto de Encuentro.

On the 29th, a theoretical event on Maestro Nelson Oney is planned, as well as a master class with guitarist Alfredo Artigas.

The closing ceremony will feature a performance by the Jazz Band and guests at the Teatro Reguero and a closing concert with descargas at the Uneac headquarters.

The Jazz Centro Festival pays tribute to the outstanding musician Nelson Oney, who was part of different orchestras and shared with great masters such as Rafael Somavilla, González Mántesis, Rafael Ortega and Osmundo Calzado, among others, with whom he learnt many aspects of music.
