The trade union movement in Ciego de Avila is ready to hold its 22nd Provincial Conference of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, scheduled for the 26th and 27th of this month, at the Máximo Gómez Báez University and the Plenary Hall of the Party Committee, in the city of Ciego de Ávila.
The meeting will be attended by 150 delegates and 29 guests, among them the Heroine and Heroes of Labour of the Republic of Cuba, Verania Hernández Peláez, Renán Cabrera Franco, Publio León Pereira and Álvaro Serrano Gómez.
The participants will discuss the integral functioning of the workers’ organisation and the behaviour of the economy plan, mainly in priority activities such as food production and the sugar harvest.
The conference of workers and trade unionists from Avila will constitute the delegation from the province to the final sessions of the Workers’ Congress, scheduled for next April in Havana, which will be attended by 44 delegates, including seven direct delegates, representing all the trade unions.
