The fight against COVID-19 is prioritized in Ciego de Ávila

Faced with the increase in positive cases of COVID-19 in Ciego de Ávila, health measures are being strengthened in the territory and the mobility of people is being restricted, especially in communities where confirmed cases are detected.

The control and checking of the provisions guided by the Provincial Defense Council regarding the reoccurrence of the disease is one of the priorities today, while health workers intensify the search for cases through research and real-time PCR testing.

Dr. Eduardo Zalacain Petgrave, deputy director of Epidemiology, told Radio Surco that care is guaranteed for suspects who remain in the surveillance centers and confirmed patients who are treated at the Roberto Rodríguez Morón hospital.

Ciego de Ávila increases the rate of incidence of confirmed cases per 100 thousand inhabitants to 4.58, increases the number of suspects by contact and by symptomatology, and the communities with mobility restriction by positive cases of COVID-19 in the last 15 days.
