The province of Ciego de Ávila started the sowing of the cold season with the purpose of completing more than 17 thousand hectares before the end of February.
The figure is one of the highest in recent years in the Agriculture system, which at this stage has one less company and the strongest strength of the cooperative-peasant movement, also committed to plant more areas.
In view of the difficulties with the technological assurance of the crops, the productive units have the challenge of using the resources rationally and employing more organic fertilizers, said Orlando Pérez Pedreira, delegate of the sector.
Ciego de Ávila concluded the spring campaign with more than 500 hectares more than planned, which augurs, if the weather allows it, to have greater production in the midst of the confrontation with the COVID-19.
