In the General Teaching Hospital Roberto Rodríguez, in the municipality of Morón in the Avilanian province, the services were readjusted with the objective of maintaining the vitality of the institution in the face of the restrictions imposed by the epidemiological situation that the province of Ciego de Ávila is still experiencing.
According to Dr. Niuris Martín Pérez, Deputy Director of Medical Assistance, the hospital was reorganized, and several consultations were moved to the polyclinics in the territory, while the community projection in the six municipalities of the north was strengthened.
Martín Pérez adds that the Intensive Care Unit remains active, as do the on-call corps of Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Surgery, and the Mother and Child Program, as well as the emergency and tumor surgeries, although those classified as elective, although not a priority, can be performed after analysis by the specialists.
The General Teaching Hospital Roberto Rodríguez became the main center in Ciego de Ávila to treat patients positive to COVID-19, suspected cases with comorbidities, and all children under 18 months both positive and suspected. (Written by Llamil Ruiz Gonzzález)
