In spite of the favorable epidemiological situation that the province presents with the containment of the pandemic, the professionals of Public Health in Ciego de Ávila maintain the active investigations and all their actions in search of possible positive cases to the COVID-19.
Maikel García de la Fuente, director of the Antonio Maceo Grajales Polyclinic of the Central Area of the city, explained that it plays a leading role in promoting health, the medical office staff of each area, as well as in the detection and timely referral of patients with symptoms of the deadly disease.
The leader added that in each care unit there is a multidisciplinary team that returns to do the epidemiological survey of the person referred, then the PCR and thus achieve an accurate diagnosis.
In the five health areas of the municipality of Ciego de Ávila, the rapid response teams are active 24 hours a day, supported by the Cuban cab transport and the management positions to which the population can go in case of any doubt.
