The progress in the assembly of El Placer mini-industry, in the farm of the same name, of the producer Martín Alonso Gómez was evaluated as excellent by national representatives of the project of Support to a Sustainable Agriculture in Cuba.
The initiative, which acronym is PAAS, is sponsored by the Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians, and El Placer is proposed to move to the third phase.
Martincito, as its owner is called, is associated with the Reinaldo Maning Credit and Service Cooperative in the municipality of Majagua, in the intricate community of Mamonal, and the mini-industry will be a source of employment in the area, with priority given to young people and women.
Deisy Guantes López, coordinator of the project in the province of Ciego de Ávila, highlighted that the industry is preparing for several production lines where the crops of the farmers in the area can be used simultaneously, processing both canned fruits and pickled vegetables.
