Ciego de Ávila readjusted the 2019-2020 academic year to minimize the epidemiological risk before the COVID-19, while it started this week the preparation of the twelfth-grade students for the higher education entrance exams.
The current epidemiological situation due to COVID-19 led this central province to redesign the educational strategy so that students can have access to their entrance exams, as well as to the granting of studies.
«The purpose is to guarantee for four weeks the leveling of those who aspire to university studies prior to the entrance exams,» informed Luis Enrique Calderón Piñeiro, General Deputy Director of the Provincial Directorate of Education.
Ciego de Ávila has not been able to complete the last academic year in any of its educational levels due to the difficulty of the epidemiological situation, which does not yet allow for an adequate degree of attendance.
