When the farmer Osmín Crescencio Padrón Báez took over the responsibility of the Agricultural Production Cooperative (CPA) José Luis Tassende, from the municipality of Ciro Redondo, on August 23, 2019; he never imagined that he would increase the production of this sugarcane entity by more than seven tons per hectare.
In spite of his significant advances, this gentleman, with a yarey hat and great physical strength, is not satisfied with what has been achieved; he wants to extend the sowing areas, to contribute a little more to the Ciro Redondo Sugar Mill than with modern technology, he must position himself in the next contests, among the most productive ones in Cuba.
Although the social object of the CPA is the sowing of cane, the several crops also steal the attention of the 58 linked cooperative members, who feel satisfied to be able to contribute with food to the elderly and vulnerable people, in times of COVID 19.
When the labor force has diminished in the cooperative due to the coronavirus, which has separated women with children and the elderly from the furrows, several organizations, together with the Party leadership and the local Government, plan voluntary work every Saturday, in support of the crops.
