The marketing of agricultural products in the province of Ciego de Ávila was exposed to public scrutiny when specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture exchanged with inhabitants of the municipality of Ciro Redondo.
Yisel González Marrero, marketing director of MINAGRI, in a frank dialogue with customers who bought their products at the markets of La Pedrera and La Mandarina, learned that most of those who bought were satisfied with the stability of the offers, which on this day were close to twenty.
Roberto Sarmiento Álvarez, provincial director of the collection company in Ciego de Ávila, meant the effort of contractors, farmers, and market workers throughout the province to ensure supply, difficult in these times from the poor planting in the cold season and now accentuated by the rains of recent days.
In this sense, Ridzi Martínez Companionis, a cooperative member from Pinar del Río, pointed out that for the last three months he has been linked to the direct supply of two agricultural markets in his municipality to which he takes his crops in his own transport, which guarantees the freshness of his products, thus materializing the new forms of management in terms of marketing in Cuba.
The company of Crop Collection in Ciego de Ávila has 116 agricultural markets, four mobile markets, and an agricultural bicycle, all with the social task of bringing the products of the field to the people of Ávila. The strategy of its directors is to increase the offers of food, fruits, and vegetables that favor the program of self-supply.
