For satisfaction and, above all, for the benefit of Ciego de Avila and Cuban sports in general, among the titles presented during the twenty – eighth edition of the International Book Fair 2019, at the Morro-Cabaña Complex in Havana, it is high Halon with the modest and authentic stamp of Yanosik Torés agete, a journalist from Radio Surco, in Ciego de Avila.
Conceived by his own initiative, to publicize the contribution of Doctor in Pedagogical Sciences and Physical Culture Iván Román Suárez , the book condenses into a hundred pages of valuable information, complemented by forty large graphic images and testimonial value.
«Therefore, – according to what Yánosik explains – the direction of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) has decided to allocate to sport college a considerable part of the printed copies, which satisfies me, because it is a recognition of the usefulness of this, my first book. «
´How come a young man like you, a native of Algodones, in the municipality of Majagua, could access such a prominent figure?
-The fact is that Iván is from my home land; he studied with my father, they lived in the same village. One day my dad introduced me into a conversation; he is a very simple person and there it came out an article devoted to the Day of Cuban Science. But that man, little known by Avilanians, had too much work in the weight lifting and sports in general, to leave it in a brief press interview … he deserved a book.
If, in his long career, Ivan himself had broken the myth of geographic fatalism, to be among the most prominent personalities of sports science, pedagogy, research and arbitration in Cuba, also Yanosik had every right to break it through a text raised by a keystroke with the strength and elegance of a weightlifter, from the ground where the Sugar mill Orlando Gonzalez once settled.
And he did, with the sagacity and transparency of questions that even the respondent (author of 42 books) undertook to expand and enrich, in an atmosphere of deep and cordial modesty.
As a result, high Halon informs the reader, among others, the story, hitherto unpublished, of how anti – terrorist heroes Gerardo, Ramón, Antonio, Fernando and René did physical exercises during the unjust incarceration in US jails, with the help of very specific procedures suggested by Dr. Iván.
With the cover design by the photographer, caricaturist and graphic designer from Ciego de Avila Osvaldo Gutiérrez, though not explicit, and a contribution from Aida Rosa Camejo (corrector of the Ínvasor´ newspaper and author of the first revision), the text bears the stamp of the Editorial Sports and it is just the fuze for Yanosik to make detonate new proposals, some already underway within the exciting world of sports, where, as he says, «there is much to write and be done for the glory and the contribution for our most important figures not to be forgotten.»
Not by chance, Dr. Antonio Becali Garrido, president of INDER, wrote: «… we thank the author for giving us the opportunity to recognize, again, this athletic teacher-trainer, scientist, writer, referee, scholar, sportsman, «the Czar of weights».
