State farmers and peasants in the province of Ciego de Ávila are increasing the use of oxen yokes, a tradition that reduces fuel consumption.
Municipalities such as Florencia, Chambas, Majagua, and Baraguá stand out in the use of ruminants, which are essential in the development of various crops such as tobacco and bananas, and in the transportation of products to reception centers.
A growing number of Credit and Service Cooperatives and other productive units are betting on the nobility of these animals that guarantee with security and efficiency the sustenance of peasant families that provide food to communities.
In addition to saving fuel in the fields, the use of oxen yokes favors in the municipalities of Ciego de Ávila the direct delivery of milk to the population, while helping the soil and the environment.
