Ice cream parlor workers in Ciego de Ávila create alternatives for sales

In the face of the SARS-CoV-2 virus health emergency, workers at the ice cream parlor in the city of Ciego de Ávila are creating sales alternatives to prevent the possibility of contagion among consumers.

The take-home ice cream is offered at four points located within the hall and dispatched by seven clerks and five cashiers

To help organize the different queues at each of the sales stands, one worker remains, avoiding crowds in front of the sales table.

Ricardo Meneses Castro, the administrator of the establishment, said that this new type of offer began earlier this month and has been widely accepted by consumers, who have the possibility of buying up to 50 balls per person of about six flavors

The director added that for this service they have two work brigades, which begin their work from 10 AM until the 200 tubs that are used daily for the modality of taking home are finished.

Meneses Castro added that other workers of Coppelia, since two weeks ago, extend the offers of ice cream to the five polyclinics of the head municipality, so that health workers have another possibility to acquire the refreshing food.

The women and men of that unit are also extending the service to other communities in the Ciego de Ávila municipality, such as Quesada, Vicente, Vila, San Vicente and La Aguadita.

Although the queues in all the ice cream parlors are slow, and this is not the exception, it is well worth the wait as it results in the acquisition of one of the most exquisite products with excellent quality, in the midst of the sanitary emergency and the intensification of the U.S. blockade.
