In response to the current juncture, marked by the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and the First Lady Cilia Flores at the hands of United States occupying forces, the Acting President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, headed a working meeting the day before with the Simón Bolívar Great Patriotic Pole (Gppsb) and all the political forces of the Bolivarian Revolution.
The session, developed from the José Félix Ribas Hall of the Teresa Carreño Theatre, had as its central objective to set out the strategic goals for the defence of peace and national sovereignty.
During it, the Acting President Rodríguez dictated three fundamental and immediate directives: first, the rescue of the head of state and his wife; second, the guarantee of peace throughout the territory of the Republic; and third, the firm maintenance of political governability in the face of present challenges.
The activity counted with a broad institutional representation, including the presence of the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez; the Minister of the Interior and Justice, Diosdado Cabello Rondón; as well as governors, deputies of the Homeland Bloc, sectoral vice presidents and representatives of the Gppsb.
In the course of the meeting, the indispensable role of people’s power was highlighted and the courage of the Venezuelan woman was exalted, inspired by historical figures such as Apacuana and Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi, an example that, according to the presidential press, First Lady Cilia Flores follows in accompanying President Maduro.
Besides the urgent directives, the Acting President Delcy Rodríguez made a call for monolithic unity to ensure the continuity of the Bolivarian Revolution through the Homeland Plan and the 7Ts, guaranteeing national production via the engines of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda.
As a closure of the meeting, the political forces that form the Great Patriotic Pole performed a patriotic commitment oath, solemnly reaffirming their willingness to fulfil the priority tasks: the rescue of the head of state and the first lady, the preservation of national peace and the unbreakable defence of the Republic’s sovereignty.
